Most EHR-generated notes are billing documents masquerading as clinical documentation. They are written to satisfy a payer, not to be read by a colleague — and every clinician who has scrolled through one to find a single relevant fact knows the difference.

KeisenVPA is built on a different premise: that the note is the last piece of genuine clinical thinking left in the chart, and it is worth defending. Every note closes with a teaching point drawn from the patient in front of you, and offers honest feedback on the reasoning behind it — something you can hand a student, and something that makes you sharper the next time.

A nurse pulled up one of my notes, read the teaching points at the end, and asked if it was AI generated. She really liked it. I told her there is no such thing as purely AI generated — AI cannot do that by itself.

The clinician is the author. The software is a powerful tool pointed at goals a human defined, and the judgment in that aiming is the whole craft. People badly underestimate the human contribution — including the fact that the human mind built the tool in the first place. KeisenVPA drafts; you read, you correct, you sign. That is deliberate: data capture pushed to the boundary of the possible and the practical, so KeisenVPA works with every EHR, on any screen, and keeps working when a vendor changes an API or charges you for access to your own data.

Floating Scratchpad — A notepad that stays on top of everything — including fullscreen EHR sessions like Epic in Citrix, where ordinary windows disappear. Keep your working list of orders, labs, and to-dos floating over the chart while you enter them, and check items off as you reconcile. Big, adjustable text; one-click Copy All; an opacity slider. Toggle it with ⌘⇧N. Everything you type is saved automatically, locally on your Mac, and restored the next time you open the pad.

The Note as a Teaching Document — Every note closes with a teaching point drawn from the patient in front of you, and offers honest feedback on the clinical reasoning behind it. Documentation you can hand a student — not a billing document masquerading as a clinical note.

Writer-Aware Note Templates — Enter your name once in Settings and generated notes identify you as the author, so notes written by other clinicians are recognized as consultant notes and their recommendations attributed to the consulting service.

Recommended Labs & Orders — Notes end with a concise list of suggested labs, imaging, and consults for the next 24 hours, each with a one-line rationale, for you to review before ordering.

One License, All Keisen Apps — A single license now unlocks every Keisen app on the same machine, with a shared trial. Existing activations migrate automatically.
