Download and install KeisenVPA on macOS

KeisenVPA is available for macOS (Apple Silicon). Windows, Intel Mac, and Linux support has been discontinued.

Download

KeisenVPA is a standalone desktop application. Choose the version for your platform:

macOS

Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4)

For M1, M2, M3, or M4 Macs (November 2020 and later).

System Requirements

No API key required

macOS Installation

Step 1: Download the DMG

Download the DMG file for Apple Silicon Macs (M1, M2, M3, M4 — November 2020 and later).

Step 2: Open the DMG

Double-click the downloaded .dmg file. A window will open showing the KeisenVPA app and an Applications folder shortcut.

Step 3: Drag to Applications

Drag the KeisenVPA icon to the Applications folder. This installs the app on your system.

Step 4: Launch the app

Open KeisenVPA from your Applications folder or use Spotlight (Cmd+Space, type "KeisenVPA").

First launch on macOS
On first launch, macOS may show a security warning. Right-click the app and select "Open" to bypass Gatekeeper. You only need to do this once.

Granting Permissions

KeisenVPA needs access to your microphone for voice recording. When prompted:

  1. Click "Allow" when macOS asks for microphone access
  2. If you accidentally denied access, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone and enable KeisenVPA

Install Whisper Services (Required)

Before using voice transcription, you must install Whisper:

  1. Click the Settings button
  2. Under the General tab, click "System Status"
  3. Click on the "Services" tab
  4. Click "Install Whisper Services"

Uninstalling

To uninstall, click Settings, go to the General tab, and click the "Uninstall" button at the bottom.

Alternatively, you can uninstall manually:

macOS

Drag KeisenVPA from your Applications folder to the Trash. To remove settings and data:

  • Delete ~/Library/Application Support/KeisenVPA
  • Delete ~/Library/Preferences/com.keisen.vpa.plist
